Jacuzzi Killers

It’s been a good week so far, and we have a ton of free music for you today.  First off, we just want to thank everyone who downloaded or sent us positive feedback on our last mix and our original remixes.  3000+ downloads in under a week on a 55 minute mixtape makes us feel pretty confident that you all actually like what we’re doing over here.  If you didn’t get a chance to download it yet, here’s one last chance, you can get it HERE.

Also, we’ve had a bunch of requests to post our remixes from the mixtape.  The Charlie ASH remix isn’t finished yet, the Sidechains is available in the last post, but we thought we would post the Van She remix for you here.  A good track to download if you’ve had enough with bangers and tracks that sound like 2009 disco.  Let us know what you think:

Next up, check out one of the best tracks I’ve gotten in a long time.  This is Designer Drugs‘ remix of a Golden Girls track.  I know, you’re expecting the same sidechained, distorted banger, but the guys actually used real instruments to record this, has a total punk rock type feel (hence the name of the remix).  I have to admit, if every DD track sounded like this, I’d be a much bigger fan than I already am.

We also received a new remix by M83 early last week, of a track by Fires of Rome.  I really know nothing about Fires of Rome, but this track is exactly what you would expect from M83, an epic mix of airy and powerful synths and strings.

Next, we have a remix from our friends down under, Calling In Sick.  Just when we thought we weren’t going to be hearing from them again, the surprise us and send over their new remix of the Grum track titled “Runaway“.  A nice, synthy, 80’s influenced dancefloor track.

J Squared, an electronic music producer out of Tokyo, sent us over one of his tracks today to post . I haven’t seen anything posted by this guy anywhere before, but I really like what I am hearing.  It sounds like a mix of Valerie with some Aphex Twin, with of course a bit of originality making it all work.

Also, we have a track from Phonat’s latest EP for you.  It was one of those tracks that I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about at first, but after a few listens it won’t leave my head, and very creative production technique, too.
