Hood Life
I used to be a big fan of hip-hop, a huge fan actually, especially back in the late 80’s and early 90’s when it was more about expression and story telling than bling and catchy one liners. Somewhere between the Soulja Boy take over and implementation of the ”must auto-tune everything rule” though, I stopped listening; forever removing Hot97 off of my FM presets. Lately though, I’ve been noticing a alot of rappers breaking into the mainstream (or at least the stream) that have been doing it a bit differnet, with some originality. Unique lyrics, experimental beats, lack of auto-tune…all things that have been getting me interested in hip-hop again.
Here are a few tracks that caught my attention. I have a ton more, so if you like them, speak up and I’ll post more:
Rye Rye - Bang (Feat. M.I.A.) (Hypnos Remix)
Two Fingers - What You Know (Feat. Sway) (Emalkay Remix)
- J

i wanna dl the sway song, why can’t i, i love it!!!!!
ya i agree with what you are saying about where hip hop is at right now, and where it is headed. There has always been good hip hop….but it is hard to find new artists that break away and try something new and fresh. like it.
I’ve heard Rye-Rye before and I really like her. I’m not a huge fan of hip-hop either.
plz post some more hip hop
I luh dat shit. the new mixtape from cool kids “gone fishing” is also off the hook and worth a full looksies from anyone and everyone. More of the same would be sick - my evergoing search for techno-steezed hip-hop is endless and hardd. So plz, do post more.
