Cut Copy x ddpesh

About a month back we included ddpesh’s remix of Cut Copy’s “Far Away” in one of our DJ sets, but up until now we weren’t allowed to release it.  Well today Ddpesh gave us the ok so check out this very unique take on a blog classic.  I don’t really know what to liken the sound [...]

Sneaky Sound System X G.L.O.V.E.S. + Moulinex x Cicada

Just had 2 tracks here I wanted to post.  The 1st is German producers Moulinex’s remix of eclectic Brit electro-rockers Cicada’s track “Falling Rockets“.  The perfect mix of 80’s, disco, electro, and rock.  Even though this track is very “now” it has enough interesting elements to give it a long shelf-life.

Cicada - Falling Rockets (Moulinex [...]

There’s No Cash In Indie?

Next time your parents or girlfriend tell you to put away your guitar or laptop filled with stolen production software and get a real job, tell them to go f*ck themselves.  In the Semptember issue of Blender Magazine, an article highlighting the increasingly large amount of cash artists are being paid for privates shows listed [...]

Toxic Avenger’s Pomomofo Remix

The up-and-coming Sydney based group Pomomofo has a fresh new indie track called “Islands” that will be released in October on their EP, In Super VGA.  French DJ, The Toxic Avenger, is known (by me at least) for his recent Playdoe remix, but he’s been around the circuit for a while now creating some hard hitting remixes.  Combine the two [...]

Mailbag!

Our inbox has been getting hammered lately, but here are a few tracks that made their way onto my Ipod.
First up, check out this track by Bipolar Badwise titled “Entwined“.  They are a three peice electro unit hailing from Melbourne, Australia who cite their influences as “Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, The Presets and Cut [...]

Disco

Disco has always heavily influenced electronic music, but it seems like with the last few months’ waves of blog releases, this has been more evident now than ever.  There are few tracks that I have been in love with lately; the 1st by Empire of the Sun.  EotS is half PNAU/Teenager and half Sleepy Jackson, and [...]

Designer Drugs New Remix

Designer Drugs has been busy in the studio lately making their signature pumpy NYC banger remixes. This Mission Control remix is no different, and that’s a good thing. Mission control is newly signed with Australian label etcetc, which also has PNAU and The Knife on their roster. Designer Drugs is touring as well as producing, so go check them [...]

Modular Records

I just heard some pretty upsetting news.  Probably my favorite label at the moment, Modular, reported a net loss of over 6 million Australian dollars last year.  They report that it is mostly from investing back into their own growth, but that number seems a little high for that to be the case.  Without Modular, [...]

Danger v. Midnight Juggernauts

I’ve been waiting for this track for awhile, and now that I finally came accross this unlikely meeting between two of my favorite artists at the moment…I can’t say I’m dissapointed in anyway.  This is as much a Danger track as it is the Midnight Juggernauts‘.  Easily the best remix of “Into The Galaxy” out there.  [...]
